United Methodist Men
As a means of promoting Christ among men of Faith
United Methodist
Church we have banned together to
form a chartered group of The United Methodist Men. While this organization allows us to promote
fellowship among the men, it also challenges us to promote Christ in our Church
and Community. As a way of putting our
faith into action the United Methodist Men of our church, taking The Great
Commission to heart, have used our various skills to help members of our
greater community.
Each year we build several wheel chair ramps for needy
persons in our community. As a group we
have participated in several Habitat for Humanity projects. We have contributed our skills to build and
repair facilities at Lexington Interfaith Community Services (LICS) and at the Palm
Center (a student religious center)
of the University of South
Carolina. The United Methodist Men contribute
monetary support as well as our time as Adult leaders to support the Youth
Workers each year as part of Salkahatchie Summer Service.
The United Methodist Men meet the second Sunday of each
month at 8:00 a.m. at the church for
Breakfast and a time of Prayer.
All men are considered members and are invited to join
us. For further information contact
Cliff Whisnant at 803-731-6554 or contact the church office.
