The Reverend W. Donald Britt is a native of Marion, SC and a graduate of Wofford College with a B.A. in English. He received his Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. Don was ordained an elder in The United Methodist Church in 1969. He has served a number of churches in South Carolina, including Church of the Covenant UMC in Spartanburg where he was the organizing pastor; Trinity UMC in Charleston, SC; St. Paul UMC in Spartanburg; and was the senior minister of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church in Columbia from June, 1997 until his retirement in June, 2005. Rev. Britt serves our congregation now in retirement.

Rev. Britt is married to Trisha, an eighth-grade algebra teacher at Irmo Middle School. They are the parents of two grown sons: Will, an attorney in Columbia, who is married to Kathryn, and they have a 22-month-old daughter, Emma. Joel, their younger son, lives in Mount Pleasant, SC, and supervises the Import Office for Maersk Shipping Company at the Daniel Island Port Facility.
