OUTREACH   MINISTRY

"Go into the world," said Jesus.  So, at Faith United Methodist we spread God's message of love.  We invite all to a life following Jesus Christ.  We are not content to only reach out in word, we reach out with our actions.

Members of Faith United Methodist run the Lexington Interfaith Community Service (LICS) Thrift Shop one Saturday each month.  On the first Sunday of each month members of our congregation contribute monetary and food support for LICS as well.  Several members of our congregation have served on the administrative board for LICS, and currently the president of the board is a member of Faith Church.

Faith sponsors the Lexington Salkehatchie camp each July.  We provide leadership, adult workers and meals for the visiting youth.  Most of the youth from our congregation also attend a Salkehatchie Summer Service camp, where they repair homes of the needy.

The United Methodist Men reach out to the members of the community in a special way.  Each year they construct several wheelchair ramps.  Each ramp is built for a family in the community that is in need of wheelchair accessibility in their homes.  The men also support Salkehatchie monetarily and by their work.

The United Methodist Women have their own special interests.  Each year through fundraisers and pledges they raise money to support one or more members of Faith United Methodist Church who Travel inside the United States as well as outside the United States on mission trips.

Faith United Methodist Church provides facilities for NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings.

We support many other outreach organizations, as well, through our time, our talents, our gifts and our services.  To name a few:  Habitat for Humanity, CROP Walk,   Epworth Children's Home,    and  Sistercare .
